March 12th, 1938. Hitler and the Nazi's Invade Austria. Right then Edith Sonnenschein Lange's family knew they were in grave danger. Her father wrote letters to 20 mayors of cities in the United States, asking for asylum. The mayor of Minneapolis read theirs and gave it to Temple Israel. The synagogue brought her entire family to Minnesota, saving them from persecution.
